Privacy Policy

Tect O Trak does not collect, transmit, or sell your personal data. All track and find data stays on your device unless you choose to share it.

1. Data We Collect

The app collects the following data solely to provide its features:

Location (GPS) — recorded while you are actively recording a session, used to draw your track and pin finds to their exact location.
Find records — notes, photographs and metadata you enter when logging a find.
Photographs — images you attach to find records, stored locally on your device.
Voice commands (optional) — if Voice Control is enabled, the microphone listens only for the spoken word "Stop". No audio is recorded or stored by the app.

2. How Your Data Is Used

Data collected by Tect O Trak is used only to provide the features of the app. It is never:

Sold to third parties
Used for advertising or profiling
Uploaded to any Tect O Trak server

3. Where Your Data Is Stored

All track data, find records and photographs are stored locally on your device in the app's private storage and in Documents/ToTai/. Nothing is transmitted to the internet by Tect O Trak itself.

Map imagery is provided by Google Maps. When the map is displayed, Google's standard privacy terms apply — see policies.google.com/privacy.

If you enable Voice Control, voice recognition is handled by your device's built-in speech recognition service and is subject to that service's own privacy policy.

4. ToT Central (This Website)

If you create a ToT Central account, the following is stored in Firebase (Google Cloud):

Your email address (used for authentication only)
Any find records or gallery images you choose to publish

Firebase is governed by Google's privacy terms. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Members' Dashboard.

5. Permissions Used by the App

Precise Location (GPS) — required for track recording and find pinning
Background Location — required to maintain GPS lock when the screen is off during an active session
Camera — used only when you choose to photograph a find
Microphone — used only when Voice Control is enabled in Settings
Storage — used to save and restore backups and export find data

6. Data Retention and Deletion

All on-device data remains until you delete it. Uninstalling the app removes all app data. Backup files saved to Documents/ToTai/ must be deleted manually.

To delete your ToT Central account and all cloud data, sign in at ToT Central and use the account deletion option.

7. Children

Tect O Trak is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
